DeAnna Dodson

Today we welcome DeAnna Dodson, multi-published author, to 3 Questions Wednesday.

(1) What is your favorite book? [Bible excluded]

DeAnna: I have so many favorites, it’s really hard for me to pick just one, but I think I’ll go with Pride and Prejudice.

(2) If you could walk into any book, what literary character would you want to be?

DeAnna: Well, probably Elizabeth Bennet. I mean, she gets to wear those gorgeous clothes AND look good in them, and she ends up with Mr. Darcy and ten thousand a year. He does look like Colin Firth, doesn’t he?

(3) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

DeAnna: I would definitely love to go back to England. I’ve been five times, but the last time was several years ago, and there’s so much I still haven’t seen. I particularly love the medieval sights, the castles and cathedrals and walled towns. So much beauty and history, it always inspires me. And, since my current series is set there, I’d love to go back to Hampshire. I’ve been to Winchester, but not to the little villages that surround my make-believe Farthering St. John. It would be a treat to visit them.

Thank you, DeAnna, for joining us on 3 Questions Wednesday! Leave a comment for your chance to win a copy of her newest release, Murder at the Mikado .

Just as Drew Farthering thinks he has reached smooth waters, Fleur Landis, an old flame, reappears in his life. She’s married now, no longer an actress, and he expects she’ll soon disappear–until she comes to him in dire need. The lead actor in her old troupe’s production of The Mikado has been murdered, and Fleur is the police’s number one suspect.
Drew would love nothing more than to just focus on his fiance, Madeline, and their upcoming wedding, but he can’t leave Fleur in the lurch–even if she did break his heart once.
As Drew, Nick, and Madeline dive into the murder, they discover more going on behind the scenes of the theater troupe than could ever have been imagined. Nearly everyone had a motive, and alibis are few and far between. It’s Drew’s most complicated case yet.

DeAnna Julie Dodson is the author of In Honor Bound, By Love Redeemed and To Grace Surrendered, a trilogy of medieval romances, and the contemporary Annie’s Attic Mysteries: Letters in the Attic, The Key in the Attic, The Diary in the Attic and The Legacy in the Attic.

And, as Julianna Deering, she has written a series of historical cozies, The Drew Farthering Mysteries: Rules of Murder, Death by the Book and Murder at the Mikado, from Bethany House. A graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, she currently lives in North Texas with her three cats. When not writing, she enjoys quilting, cross-stitch and watching NHL hockey.
