My Healthier New Year

By Betty Boyd

Resolutionspencil pic. Resolutions. Resolutions.  Most people make them and shortly break them.

For me, a healthier New Year means to have a closer relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  My sole purpose in this world is to serve God and my fellow man.  To accomplish this means a closer relationship to Jesus Christ.

So this year I am making a biblical resolution.  I have tried making the traditional resolutions: eating better, exercising more, etc.  I quickly broke them all.  In helping me with a better relationship with Jesus Christ, I am taking a new approach and doing a biblical resolution.

My biblical resolution is from Romans 12:2-Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and

I want to transform myself this 2015, in desiring what God wants me to become and this will be accomplished by better discerning of His will.  Most times, I have have-heartedly tried to discern God’s will, and I fail miserably.  I already have a deep relationship with Jesus, but I want more.

It will take patience to make this discernment happen, (which I need to work on), lots of prayer and my full commitment to what God has ready as my purpose. Not only to serve Him and others, but so that by my full trust and faith, that I give it all to Jesus and never waiver in this commitment.

This will take everything I have within me but because I know that Jesus is my best friend, I can come to him no matter what. All things are possible through Christ, only if I have the faith the size of a mustard seed and know He is always there for me.

May God bless you and help in accomplishing all your New Year resolutions.

Happy New Year!
