3 Questions Wednesday with Jennifer Hallmark

IMG_6297Today’s 3 Questions Wednesday guest is Writing Prompts’  founder and editor-in-chief, Jennifer Hallmark.

Welcome to 3 Questions, Jennifer. You know the drill–

Which author would you never get tired of, and why?

Jennifer: I love so many authors, but I’m going to go with a non-fiction author, Max Lucado. His books are so encouraging. His first book I ever read was When God Whispers Your Name and as a young Christian, it was life-changing for me. If I’m ever having a tough day, I know I can open any Max Lucado book and be refreshed in a short time.

Wonderful choice. His writings are so inspiring. Speaking of inspiring, writers must be able to develop good villains. The meaner, the better–

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Jennifer:  I do love a good villain. How about Zennon from James Rubart’s Well Spring Novels series? We meet him in Soul’s Gate and he is so beyond evil. You’ll find yourself turning each page, hoping he doesn’t show up. You can follow his descent in Memory’s Door and when he finally meets his match in Spirit Bridge.

Oh, he’s a good one. Now, on to your personal writing–

What project are you currently working on?

Jennifer:  At the forefront is the book collaboration Unlikely Merger I’ve taken part in with nine other authors. (One of them being you ;)) It’s the sequel to A Dozen Apologies and The Love Boat Bachelor. Find out more about it here.

I have a non-fiction story which will appear in Not Alone: A Literary and Spiritual Companion for those Confronted with Infertility and Miscarriage. This book will release in early fall.

As far as my novels, I’ve finished my YA fantasy novel called Journey of Grace: Realm of Ecclesia and am getting ready to pitch it and my contemporary southern fiction novel, When Wedding and Weather Collide at the Atlanta Christian Writers Conference in August.

How exciting! God bless you as you pursue His path in your writing. Thanks for taking the time to complete our 3 Questions.

That means travel, engaging strangers, and making final decisions—nothing she feels equipped to do. If her best friend has her way, Mercy will simply marry one of the single, available men she meets, but they overwhelm her. So handsome and kind. And so many. Even if she felt obliged, how could she ever choose?

Should she shove all attraction aside and focus on her father’s business, or is God warming her heart with the possibility of forever?

Unlikely Merger is available as a free download from Kindle July 1st through July 5th. It will then be available for 99¢ through the month of July.
