Today we welcome multi-award-winning best-selling author of more than thirty works, Eva Marie Everson, to 3 Questions Wednesday!
Hello Eva! Pull up a chair and we’ll chat.
Which author would you never get tired of, and why?
Eva: Depends on the genre. For nonfiction: Robert Benson. His words are like butter on hot bread. They’re smooth. They sink down into the layers and make the whole life experience better.
For fiction: Lynn Austin. When I read her work before bed, I literally dream the words as I sleep. I have yet to open a book of hers that I did not become completely immersed in.
Great authors. I just finished Wonderland Creek by Lynn Austin. 🙂 Now about those bad guys…
Who is your favorite fictional villain?
Eva: I don’t like villains. Never do. I want everyone to just be nice. LOL But in all seriousness, I enjoy a story where the antagonist is the protagonist. In other words, they wrestle with themselves to be better people.
I do like the angst in that kind of story. Last question:
What project are you currently working on?
Eva: I have completed my first work with Tyndale (Five Brides, which released in May of this year) and am in negotiations with them (or, I should say, my agent is) for another historical WWII novel. This is not an era I ever thought I’d write in, but I must say, I enjoy it. The times were just as stressful, I think, but the approach was purer. And entertainment was just that–entertainment.
Congratulations. God bless you as you pursue His path in your writing. Thanks for taking the time to complete our 3 Questions.
And one reader will win a copy of Five Brides just for leaving a comment below. Will it be you?
Five single, fiercely independent women live together in a Chicago apartment in the early 1950s but rarely see one another. One Saturday afternoon, as they are serendipitously together downtown, they spy a wedding dress in a storefront window at the famous Carson, Pirie, Scott & Co. After trying it on―much to the dismay of the salesclerk and without a single boyfriend or date between the five of them―they decide to pool their money to purchase it. Can one dress forever connect five women who live together only a short time before taking their own journeys to love and whatever comes happily ever after?
