3 Questions Wednesday with Patty Smith Hall

7cc4e0_900d010bb5d34c33811c79ec9f3f359aPlease welcome to 3 Questions Wednesday, multi-published author, Patty Smith Hall.

So glad you dropped by, Patty! First question:

Which author would you never get tired of, and why?

Patty: Hmm, that’s a tough question because I read so many authors. But I’d have to say Gilbert Morris–he wrote a wonderful historical series around a young woman doctor(Cheney Duvall) and her nurse, a Civil War veteran called Shiloh Irons. Think Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman on paper. My favorite books EVER–and one of the reasons I started writing. The first short story I ever wrote was a fan fiction piece based on this series.

Cool. I’ve heard others mention how fan fiction was important to their writing career. Now when it comes to interesting characters…

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Patty: There are so many good ones to chose from, but I have to say, Cate Blanchett’s performance as the Evil Stepmother in Cinderella. She was positively EVIL but the way she played it gave us a glimpse into the WHY behind her nastiness. I almost felt sympathy toward her because I could relate to how her own loss had made her the way she was. Almost!

Great choice! Last question…

What project are you currently working on?

Patty:  I just published a novella in the Christmas Mail Order Angels series and am in the middle of editing a manuscript based in the Georgia gold rush of 1830. After that, I have three novellas as well as the second New Hope book and a new series proposal for Love Inspired Historical to work on. And I have a Love Inspired Historical, The Baby Barter coming out in January!

Wow. You’re one busy lady. Thanks for joining us today! 🙂

Patty has graciously offered to give away a digital copy of New Hope Sweethearts as well as a physical copy of her new LIH release, The Baby Barter. Please leave a comment to be entered to win.
