Good morning! It’s my pleasure to welcome author, Julie Arduini, to the Inspired Prompt. Good morning, Julie.
Who is your favorite author?
This is a hard one! I have to say the one constant where each book is a homerun for me as a reader is Susan May Warren. She creates characters and conflicts that I can’t get enough of. I love her work.
I would struggle picking a favorite too. Next question…
If you could write about anyone or anything fiction/nonfiction who or what would you write about?
These two ideas come from loved ones and I honestly don’t know how I could pull these ideas off, but here you go….one fiction idea a loved one wishes I’d write is in the Amish genre, covering a story line that includes the real journey Amish families often take to Mexico for healthcare. The second would also be fiction and would tell the story of a family and the impact of using a donor and finding (half) siblings who also used the same donor.
I enjoy all things Amish. Their way of life is so interesting. Now for your last question.
If you could spend time with a character from your book or another book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
I think because I just finished her story and I related to her, it would be Lena Calloway from You’re Amazing. She’s a mentor in the Linked ministry but by no means does she have a perfect life. That’s part of her problem, she feels ill-equipped to mentor because her life isn’t perfect. She’s completely overwhelmed as a mom and struggles because others inject their opinions about her motherhood, causing more self-doubt. I was part of MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, as a mom and a mentor and I know those early years are confidence killers if you allow it. I’d take Lena out for coffee and just let her vent. I’d encourage her and build her up and make sure she knew I was available. If there’s a mom who can relate, I hope you check out MOPS. It was a lifesaver for me!
MOPS is a fantastic program. Julie, we’re so glad you stopped by to visit. Come back soon…
