3 Questions Wednesday with Jodie Wolfe

Today we are joined by Jodie Wolfe who creates novels that have a hopeful theme. Let’s get to know Jodie a little better. Our first question, what do you love most about the writing process? The least?

Jodie: I love the actual writing process, coming up with characters, and letting them go to run loose in the setting I created. The thing I’m not excited about is the editing and marketing phase of writing.

You’re right, marketing and editing aren’t always our favorite parts, but they are a must to share our stories. Next question, describe your writing space.

Jodie: My office is a converted bedroom. I have a large L-shaped desk. Right behind my computer I have my story board with photos of my characters and the setting. To my left are my notes for the story as well as any resource books I might need as I’m writing. Of course there also are a number of bookcases filled with books in the room along with historical items that get me in the mood to write.

I love it! Sounds like a creative wonderland! Our final question, were you a young writer, late-bloomer, or somewhere in-between?

Jodie: I was a young writer. I first wrote a poem as a writing assignment in second grade. I wrote about my favorite thing in the entire world – Snoopy. Soon afterward I started writing little stories and illustrating them. My first one was about our pet dog, Ginger, attending Jimmy Carter’s inaugural ball. I was hooked. I knew then that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up.

Thanks Jodie, it has been great to get to know you.
