Our Unique Experience

by Shirley Crowder

As I look back over my life, there are a few times when certain people and circumstances combine to create a unique experience that can never be duplicated. The people involved gather for a myriad of reasons, for instance, common interests, life circumstances, common goals, and shared experiences.

The Inspired Prompt Crew has been one of those unique experiences in my life. Authors Jennifer and Betty gathered a crew of authors to share through Inspired Prompt to educate, encourage, connect, and inspire other writers.

Through my involvement with Inspired Prompt, I have made many good friends with whom I hope to stay connected throughout the years. I have learned so much about blogging, writing, editing, using illustrations and pictures, how to use social media, how to self-publish, how to work with a traditional publisher, different genres, and so much more!

As this unique experience we call Inspired Prompt comes to an end, let’s take a look at some of the things that made this a unique experience:

The crew is comprised of Christ-followers whom the Lord has given knowledge, gifts, talents, abilities, resources, and experiences to write. We are propelled by our love for God, each other, and other writers to educate, encourage, connect, and inspire other writers.

We have encouraged each other as we have celebrated the exciting news of our fellow crew members’ writing journeys and we have cried with those crew members who have experienced great loss.

Through our involvement with Inspired Prompt, the crew is actually fulfilling The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

This Commission tells us that as we go about doing the things God has called us to do, in the places He has called us to do them, make disciple-makers. As we share through Inspired Prompt we are helping teach, model, and explain how to glorify God with our writing.

The crew is a great mix of specialty areas that has enabled us to cover a wide array of topics that are helpful for writers.

A distinction I find with Christ-following writers, as opposed to non-Christ-following writers, is their willingness to lend a helping hand to help others succeed in their writing journeys.

Working together, we have built strong friendships as we helped each other with our blogs, shared our lives with each other, and prayed for each other.

Our readers have been a great source of encouragement to us, and have helped spur all of us on to becoming better writers for the glory of God.

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

2 Corinthians 9:11-12 ESV

As we prepare to turn the page on this chapter, Our Unique Experience, we do so with mixed feelings. We are hesitant to say farewell because we know there will inevitably be changes in our relationships with other crew members and we will miss the resource for our writing that Inspired Prompt has provided.

The website will remain up for a year. We invite you to keep up with the crew by following us on social media and our Amazon author pages, signing up for our newsletters, and subscribing to our personal blogs.

Won’t it be fun to see what the Lord has in store for the crew in the years to come?
